Meet Blaik Ritchie, Vice President and Mixed-Use Business Leader at NELSON Worldwide. Under Blaik’s leadership, the firm’s mixed-use team will expand its capabilities to create dynamic destinations that inspire engagement.

Q:
What inspired you to get into architecture/design/engineering/the work that you do?

I was inspired to be an architect by Mike Brady from The Brady Bunch. He made being an architect look cool. Well…as cool as one could have looked considering the fashion of the ’70s.

Q: What is a song or album that helps pump you up or get excited?

“Loving You” by Minnie Ripperton.

Q: What’s something people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

I have climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Q: Dead or alive, who are 3 people you’d love to host at a dinner party?
  • Abraham Lincoln for his wisdom
  • Helen Keller for her indomitable spirit.
  • Prince for…well, because he’s Prince.

Over the years, I’ve worked across four different continents. Through this experience, I’ve acquired a deeper understanding of how to approach architecture and design from a global perspective. I am excited to join the firm’s team of experts and come together with like-minded designers to drive continued growth within the mixed-use sector.– Blaik Ritchie
