Michael Lynch has joined NELSON as Technical Leader of the Civic & Justice practice. Michael will support the team on the west coast, working on judicial projects of varying scales – from schematic design through construction administration – to ensure compliance with state and local codes as well as client design requirements.

Michael has worked on over 30 K-12 and community college projects in California over his 25-year career, as well as more than 20 judicial projects across the nation, including the Travis County Civil and Family Courts in Austin, Texas; the Women’s Community Correctional Center in Kailua, Hawaii; and multiple projects with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to increase accessibility within their facilities. His expertise spans ADA analysis, codes, and technical design for new and retrofit construction projects.

As a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Master’s in Architecture, Michael began his career at Lionakis in Sacramento, California before joining CGL and now, NELSON. He has taught continuing education courses to architects around California with a specific focus on accessibility, and enjoys mentoring future leaders in the field of architecture.
