Meet Loren Nelson, Vice President, Market Leader, and National Leader of Multi-Family Sales at NELSON Worldwide. Loren will establish NELSON’s presence both on the West Coast and nationally as an expert in multi-family and residential market sectors.

Professionally, what is one thing you want to be remembered for?

I would love to be remembered for making a substantial impact in the growth and culture of the companies I worked with, and for the relationships made along the way.

Q: What’s something people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

My parents always told me I could be whatever I wanted to be when I grew up. Cowboy didn’t seem feasible, but I always gravitated towards things that were improbable. When I was younger, I wanted to be a country singer and actor. I even recorded some covers that still exist online, and was in various plays and a few commercials.

Q: What is a quote or mantra you live by?

There are two. “Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to.” – Richard Branson

“It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” – Steve Jobs

Q: What is an underrated food that you think deserves more hype?

Chocolate chip cookies. Too many of them are just ok, but the ones that are amazing are life changing (FYI, I make amazing ones).

Part of what drew me to NELSON Worldwide was their footprint, reach, and ambitious company culture. I am eager to tap into the booming multi-family market. The way people live has drastically changed and it is informing the way we shape the residential landscape.– Loren Nelson
